About the Role
Are you an enthusiastic and innovative Media teacher looking to join a thriving and ambitious creative faculty? We are seeking a talented professional to deliver and develop our exciting T Level Media provision within our dynamic campus of Creative and Performing Arts.
From September 2026, the faculty will offer 16 courses delivered by a team of 15 teachers and 4 technicians, supporting a vibrant learning community of over 800 students. With ambitious plans to introduce new diplomas in Art and Design, Music Technology and Performance, this is an exciting time to join us and contribute to the continued growth and success of the department.
Media courses are delivered in contemporary specialist facilities including TV, podcast and recording studios, dedicated teaching rooms and well-equipped IT suites. Students benefit from a wide range of enrichment opportunities such as involvement in Winstanley TV and international residential trips.
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to share best practice, develop innovative teaching approaches and play a key role in shaping the future of T Level delivery within an outstanding and supportive faculty.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching and Learning
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons and programmes of study.
- Assess, record and report on student progress, achievement and development.
- Set and mark work and prepare students for public examinations.
- Contribute to course development, teaching materials and assessment strategies.
- Undertake lesson observations in line with internal and external standards.
- Promote high levels of attendance, retention, achievement and student satisfaction.
- Deliver enrichment activities, including accompanying students on external visits.
- Student Support and Progress
- Promote the well-being, progress and personal development of students.
- Provide academic, pastoral and careers guidance.
- Maintain accurate records and produce reports and references where required.
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers and external partners.
- Support students with project and industry placement work (up to 2 hours per week).
Professional Responsibilities
- Participate in staff meetings, administrative and organisational duties.
- Contribute to performance management and engage in continuous professional development.
- Maintain good discipline and uphold high standards of health and safety.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of young people at all times.
- Provide short-term cover for absent colleagues where required.
